Project Work 2015

During  2015,  with  the  support  of  our  partners  Framtidståget  organized  various leisure  activities  and education courses for our clients and members. We were very active on the international level and had different kinds of projects under Erasmus + program.

Main parts of our projects were:

  • Voluntary service (EVS) in Sweden.
  • International projects: Youth exchange / Training / Networking for youth workers.
  • Humanitarian work / Sport as a tool for social integration.

During 2015 we had 11 international projects. We organized 4 projects: “Not Nearby, But Together” in Belarus, “Peaceful Puzzle of Ukraine” in Ukraine, “Gender Justice – From Theory 2 Practice” in Armenia, “Morocco.Co” in Morocco and co-organized a project “Peace Bridge”. We hosted 130 participants from 17 countries, and send out 17 members to participate in youth exchange / trainings / networking for youth workers in other countries.

During 2015 we hosted 2 volunteers from Georgia and Belarus.

As about our humanitarian work, last year Framtidståget collected and sent clothes, food, money, books and other essential household things to Morocco. Also we promoted healthy lifestyle to youngsters. We made sports camps in Morocco where we used sports as a tool for social integration.

From the 8th to 12th of March, 2016, the second part of our project “Not Nearby, but Together” took place. Five representatives of the Belarusian NGO “World Without Borders” visited us in Stockholm. Each day we had meetings with different organizations, tasted delicious food, had nice and useful conversations and of course did a bit sightseeing in the city.

On the 10th of March we had a study visit to the Parliament, where we were met by Stefan Nilsson, the politician from Miljöpartiet (The Green Party). He gave us a tour through the new and old buildings and told about the governmental system of Sweden.

On the 11th of March we visited the NGO X-Cons. The main idea of their initiative is to help people with criminal background to stay away from drugs and crime. The activists of the NGO provide a drug-free social network, where everybody can be listened and help without judgement. The meeting was very interesting and showed Swedish experience from some new side.

Among other places we visited a beautiful church in Nacka – Nacka Kyrkan – where very nice priest-woman told us gladly about their social activities and work with youth. During the project the participants also got acquainted with the official community of the Belarusians in Sweden – «Sveriges Belarusier». It was a both fun and informative time we spent with them.

The project “Not Nearby, But Together” was a great chance for all of us to learn from each other and exchange experience with different organizations. Our guests were glad to have a possibility to see Swedish life and work with youth from varied angles.
